In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic lock down, all private and public facilities were shut from the public gathering. The LBS, the facility where the Island Allstars Sports Club members train on Saturdays were also affected. This greatly affected the weekly trainings and bonding of members who were trapped in their homes due to the pandemic.
One day, Chief Kenneth Osuagwu DBBK, sent a message on the club platform inviting willing members to come out to L’avalon hotel Ado road to play football on the hotel’s Astro turf. Like bees released from their beehives, soccer loving members and non-members alike trooped out to the venue and played the game of soccer that they have been denied for months.

The training continued every other Saturday and few members continued to pay for the monthly subscription. Worthy of mention is Haliru Momodu who did not only pay monthly subscriptions but also ensured that there was enough to eat and drink after each training. Other members who were of great assistance to the overall welfare of the group are: Chief Ifeanyi Chinasa, Mr Lucky Oiwoh, Mr Ugochukwu Ifediora, Mr Tommy Nwankpa, Don Kefe, Mr Ben Azuh , Mr Anthony Molokwu, Mr Abbey, Mr Nnaji Amechi, Mr Onyekachi Ifediora, Mr Onyekachi Ijejirika, Alhaji Mohammed Jubril, Mr Chidi Ngoka, Coach Moses and a host of others.

Few months later, the lockdown was lifted and other associating sports clubs resumed training at their various groups but members who have found another level of bonding and fraternity decided to continue the Astro turf training on Sunday and the name Astro Sunday was coined.

The training continued for several months in L’avalon and in April 2022, the association moved to Ahmed Musa Arena where the name was changed to Lekki Astro sports club. Mr Bonny Alinta played a very vital role in the organization and migration of the   association from old venue to the new ground and subsequently became the first President of the Association. Upon his emergence as the Vice president of IASC, he handed over the leadership of the club to Alhaji Haliru Momodu.
Within a very short time, the club has recorded great feats ranging from CAC registration, Account opening, appointment of BOTs etc.
It has also played several home and away matches with other reputable Allstars clubs in Lagos.

Acceptable behaviour agreements

The club, working closely with Ajah Police, have introduced an acceptable behaviour agreement. This is designed as a formal agreement between the club and any individual whose behaviour has persistently not been up to standard expected of a supporter of the club, at home or away. The agreement requires the individual to confirm that their behaviour will not be such as to damage the name or reputation of the club or lead to complaints from anyone about their conduct. If an individual should breach the agreement, then this could lead to a ban from the club or used as evidence in any court proceedings relating to their anti-social behaviour.

The agreement is in effect a yellow card which we hope members and supporters concerned will respect and comply with. We see this as a far more positive way of dealing with issues that arise from time to time.

Against Discrimination

We do not tolerate discrimination of any sort at the Club, on the pitch or in the stands. If you experience any form of discrimination, help us to eliminate it from football by reporting it. Evacuation Procedure

In the event of an emergency at Lekki Astro Ground, spectators should remain in their positions and listen carefully to announcements that will be made.

The announcements may direct spectators in a specified area of the ground to evacuation points which may be exit gates or emergency exits leading on to the pitch.

If spectators are requested to vacate a specified area, they are asked to do so calmly and quickly to assist with a safe evacuation.

All supporters should then make their way towards the area immediately outside the stand from which they were watching the event. You should note that the movement of cars is not permitted until such time as an event or incident has been declared all clear.
